During the 18th Weifang International Kite Festival,"National Invited Competition of Kites with Characteristics " will be held. Here is the details:

1. Date and Location:
Date : April 18----April 22.
Location: In Weifang--the Kite Capital of the World

2. Sponsors:
Shandong Kites Association and Weifang Municipal Government.

3. Undertaking by:
Weifang Kites Association

4. Participants:
18 teams from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Jilin, Aviation Industries cooperation,Nanjing, 
Inner Mongolia,Dalian,Taiyuan, Sichuan, Changchun, Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Shangdong,
Weifang, Chongqing Automobiles cooperation,and Xiamen will be meeting the invitation to 
attend the invited competition.

5. How to participate:
1) Each unit will only offer one team. One Guide and Coach , 6 players (Male or Female).
2) For each type kite,only 2 kites offered. The amount will not exceed 10.

6. Participating Items:
1) Dragon: Middle and larger ones.
2)  Bamboo: Middle and larger ones.
3) Soft wing: Large and larger ones.
4) Hard wing: Middle and larger ones.
5) Complex: Middle and larger ones.
6) Dual-controlled(with special skills): No restrictions
7) Soft kites: No restrictions.
8) Others: bamboo clusters, hard clusters, and soft clusters.

7. Rules for competition:
1) Principle: Simple Procedures,Easy to judge.

8. Numbers taken and awards:
1) For the teams ,only register the first 3( A cup). By the marks each kite gets and arrangements.
2) Others will be given a gift as souvnier.
3) For the single kites, first 3 for each type.
4) Several prizes for "Invention Kites".

9. Expenses:
1) The traffic fare will be on yourselves.
2) Food and Lodging,40 yuan each person every day. The shortage will be charged by the Committee.
3) The extra person's fare on himself.

10. Registration:
1) Each team will have to fill in the application form.
2) All the registration forms will be mailed or faxed to Weifang Kite Association before April 1st,2001.
3) Offer your arrival time and number of your trains/plane to Weifang Kite Association,so that they can pick you up.
4) Each participating team is reluctant to participate in the 18th Weifang International Kite Festival.
5)  Afer the competition, each team will present the Kite Festival a characterized kite as a souvenior.

11. Judgers:
The Kite Festival will invite some state-level coaches from China Kite Association, Shandong Kite Association and from Weifang Kite Association. The shortage will be chosen locally by the Kite Festival Committee.
